The Insurance BIN (Bank Identification Number) is a 6-digit code that identifies a health insurance provider. The BIN number, in conjunction with the Processor Control Number, tells the switching company where to transmit electronic claims to for online adjudication.

This number is transmitted in field A1-101.

QuickSCRIP takes this number from the Insurance Vendor File Maintenance database, screen 1, line 2.
