The Insurance BIN (Bank Identification Number) is a 6-digit code that identifies the insurance company that processes a prescription. The BIN number, in conjunction with the Processor Control Number, tells the switching company where to transmit electronic claims to.

This number is transmitted in field A1-101.

QuickSCRIP takes this number from the Insurance Vendor File Maintenance database, screen 1, line 2.
