The QuickSCRIP Synchronization program is a new feature that allows you to add groups of claims for a particular customer to the Manual Refill Queue. In addition, this program allows claims automatically renter the queue again, for the next refill cycle. This feature is particularly useful for customers that consistently come in to get all their prescriptions filled, such as customers on maintenance meds.

Setting Up a Customer

Setting up a customer with the Sync program is straightforward.

  1. Start at the Pharmacy Main Menu
  2. Choose Option 13, Patient File Maint.
  3. Search for the patient you would like to sync prescriptions on.
  4. Enter Shift + F10 to pull up the Sync Program.
    • A allows you pick and add scrips to be synced.
    • D allows you to remove scrips from the Sync Program.
    • V lets you view what scrips are already setup for syncing
    • P Prints out a list of synced scrips for this patient.

Adding Scrips to be Synced

Choosing A from the Sync Menu allows you to select scrips to be synced. A pick-list will appear, from here, you can navigate the picklist with the up and down arrow keys. Pressing the Space bar allows you to select claims to sync. Pressing Enter proceeds with the sync process, and pressing escape exits the program.

In the pick-list, we highlight scrips that have refills remaining, and that would be ideal to sync together. The prescription highlighted in red is the scrip with the highest copay. Scrips that are already in the queue cannot be selected again.

After you have pressed enter, type Y to confirm you wish to sync the selected scrips. N quits the program.

You will next be asked for the number of days for the Sync Cycle. This cycle determines how often the prescriptions are set to reappear in the Manual Refill Queue. We recommend a monthly cycle of 30-days, but if you would like the scrips to appear a few days early, you can set the cycle day for 28 days.

The final question sets up the first day of the Sync Cycle. Enter this in mmddyy format. This is the target date that the prescriptions will appear in the queue, and will reappear in the queue every number of days that you have chosen for the sync cycle. Any other prescriptions that you add to sync will be set to this date and cycle. If you add any new prescriptions for this patient, QuickSCRIP will offer to sync them with the rest, and partial fill the current scrip.

Changing the Sync Date

Once you have setup a patient for scrip syncing, you can change the date and sync cycle days as needed.

  1. Start at the Pharmacy Main Menu
  2. Choose Option 13, Patient File Maint.
  3. Search for the patient you would like to edit.
  4. Enter O2 to go to screen 2.

Lines 42 and 43 list the sync cycle days and the next date the scrips should appear in the Manual Refill Queue. You can select and adjust the information in these fields.

Removing claims from the Sync Program

The Sync program allows you to add claims to the Manual Refill Queue, but is a standalone program from it. Even if you delete a claim from the queue, it will still appear again on the next sync cycle. You will need to delete the claim from both the MRQ and the Sync program.

  1. Start at the Pharmacy Main Menu
  2. Choose Option 13, Patient File Maint.
  3. Search for the patient you would like to sync prescriptions on.
  4. Enter Shift + F10 to pull up the Sync Program.
  5. D will then allow you to remove claims from the queue.
