The Patient Profile screen is a program that generates prescription reports for individual patients. These reports can be useful for patients needing an overview of prescriptions dispensed over a time period, hard-copies of scrips that are being transferred to another pharmacy, or patient-specific printouts for insurances and audits.

If you are wanting reports based on drugs or insurance companies, or if you need to run a report with more specific criteria, please consider the F7 Report generator, or the pre-configured reports in the Reports Menu (option 4) of the Pharmacy Main Menu.

Printing a Profile

You can access the Patient Profile Screen from option 16 of the Rx Processing Menu. Additionally, you can access it by hitting F8 from any of the main menus.

Note: The Patient Profile only prints prescriptions that have already been dispensed. It does not include 'on file' scrips.

  1. Make any adjustments to the report format that you need, or take the default.
  2. Type all or part of the patient's name as lastname, firstname format, then select them from the pick-list.
  3. Enter the date range you wish the report to search within. Format is mmddyy.
  4. Q to Quit adding patients to the profile, or type in another name for other customers.
  5. You can then hit P to print from the menu at the bottom of the screen.

If you have setup a format for a profile that you like, you can hit S to name and save these settings. Please note that this only saves the settings for the report, not the date that the report generates.

Parameters

  • 1 Reprint line can be set if you wish to run multiple copies of the same report.
  • 2 Range of Names can be set if you want to run a report for a range of customer names, rather than individual customers.
  • 3 Format the name of the profile mask (Default is set in the Business Control File). Selecting this line will

open a pick-list, from which you can select pre-configured or saved report formats. The format you pick will override lines 4 and 5.

  • 4 Sort Codes Determine whether the report prints by time, date, drug, or other sorting parameters.
  • 5 Summarize Codes Works jointly with the Sort codes to determine how the report prints.
  • 6 Columns to use Some profiles have blank columns for pricing information. You can select what data prints in those columns here. Each letter corresponds with a column (max 4).
  • 7 Rx Types Wanted allows you to limit the report to Cash, Charge, Medicaid, or Insurance claims.
  • 8 Number of Copies sets the number of copies that the report prints.
  • 9 and 10 Auto Profile codes to Include/Exclude allows you to run reports for patients that are marked with auto profile codes (for nursing home groupings).

Additional Settings

There are additional settings that allow you to modify the Patient Profile program. These settings can be found in the Business Control File.

  1. In QuickSCRIP, start in the Pharmacy Main Menu
  2. Choose Option 3 Utilities
  3. Choose 7 Rx Label and Report Customization
  4. Lines 26 through 28' are settings for the Patient Profile.

Profile: Retail, Copay, Both

Sets the default column option line 6.

  • R sets the default column to retail price.
  • C sets the default column to copay.
  • B sets two columns, one for retail and one for copay.
  • I sets three columns: retail, copay, and insurance pay.
  • S sets the column to default to cash price.

Note that this impacts only the default settings when you first go to the Patient Profile screen. These column settings can be overwritten if you choose a new format (line 3) or manually change them yourselves.

Profile Special Mask

Sets the default mask for the profile. New customers are setup with RXPSTORE.F. If your store uses a custom profile, it will be set here.

Note that this impacts only the default settings when you first go to the Patient Profile screen. These column settings can be overwritten if you choose a new format (line 3) or manually change them yourselves.

Profile Special Key

Works jointly with the default mask to determine how the report is sorted.

Note that this impacts only the default settings when you first go to the Patient Profile screen. These column settings can be overwritten if you choose a new format (line 3) or manually change them yourselves.
